The hero of this brand-new action-adventure is a slime—one of the most popular monsters from the Dragon Quest series.

Features

Simple, addictive gameplay
Tons of weapons and tank upgrades
Four-player wireless gameplay Welcome to the kingdom of Slimenia, a peaceful land where Slimes live in roly-poly harmony.

That is, until one day Slimenia is invaded by a mysterious cartel called "the Plob."

The plundering Plob kidnap all the slimes in the capital city of Boingburg. Rocket is the only slime left behind and must journey through Slimenia to save his friends and uncover the Plob's nefarious plot!

Bounce, Stretch & Carry For an adventure game, the action doesn't come more down to earth than it does in Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. When it comes to opening chests or picking up enemies or items, Rocket really gets his body into it.

His attack, the Elasto Blast, comes from him stretching himself and then launching himself like a rubber band.

You simply hold the A Button and use the Control Pad to stretch Rocket in the desired direction. Then, you let go of the button and watch Rocket whip himself at an item or enemy.

When Rocket hits an item or enemy, items bounce into the air, allowing Rocket to settle under them and carry them around.

Rocket can carry three items or enemies at a time and can throw them one at a time. With these skills, Rocket needs to solve puzzles and free his fellow Slimes--100 in all.

Fierce Tank Battles Each adventure stage culminates in Rocket hopping aboard a colossal slime-shaped war machine called the Schleiman Tank and battling it out with the enemy's Monster Tanks.

You can customize tanks by collecting a vast array of weapons and items. The inventory management system of the tank lets you maximize the damage you can do to an enemy's tank.

You don't need to go it alone in the tank battles. Rocket can call on his fellow slime and other allies for help; each character lends special abilities.

Rocket can even treat his friend as a weapon, shooting slimes so they can infiltrate and sabotage the enemy's Monster Tank! In addition to the battles in story mode, players can go head-to-head in tank battles via the Nintendo DS wireless multiplayer game feature.

Bottom Line (or rather, Slime)Who knew playing as a teardrop-shaped goo glop could be so much fun? Some of the puzzles you need to figure out are definitely challenging and the tank battles get more frantic as the levels advance.

This game is soooo damn addictive ! It has cool multiplayer action and amazing action puzzle solving.

Ill give it a rating of 9/10!

Classic NDS Titles

Who is the Galaxy's Most Elite Bounty Hunter? Before Metroid Prime Hunters, the answer was easy. Now that six other ferocious bounty hunters have gathered to challenge Samus, the title is up for grabs. Metroid Prime Hunters delivers the most intense first-person multiplayer action ever experienced on a hand-held system, and with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection you can test your skills against players from around the world.

Engage in intense four-player deathmatches either locally or against players from around the world with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
Battle with seven elite bounty hunters, each with unique alternate forms and specialty weapons.

Customize your multiplayer matches with over 20 expertly designed arenas and seven intense modes of play.

Unlock multiplayer features by playing through an all-new single-player mission, or by battling other hunters in multiplayer mode.

A Multiplayer Masterpiece Metroid Prime Hunters delivers an engaging single-player experience, but without a doubt it's the multiplayer arena where Hunters shines.

The game features seven multiplayer modes of play, over 20 battle arenas, and seven bounty hunters to choose from, each with a unique alternate form and special weapon.

Four players can compete using just one game card, and additional features and modes of play become available if each player has his or her own copy of the game. With Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, you can put your skills to the test against other players from around the world.

You might be able to school your little brother, but how will you stack up against the globe's elite bounty hunters? Multiplayer Modes Here is a quick overview of the seven modes of play in Metroid Prime Hunters, available in both local and online play. Battle -- Anything goes in Battle Mode, where your goal is to eliminate your opponents in a timed deathmatch.

Rack up more kills than your competitors to score a victory. Survival -- In Survival Mode, you begin the game with a limited number of lives.

The goal is simple -- drain your enemies' stock of lives before your own runs out and be the last hunter standing. Bounty -- Fight for the possession of an Octolith and be the first hunter to deliver it to the drop point to succeed in Bounty Mode.

This is pure bounty hunting at its finest. Defender -- Defender is how bounty hunters play King of the Hill. Secure the designated area and accumulate points while you are the only hunter to occupy it.

Prime Hunter -- Gain the coveted enhanced powers of the Prime Hunter, and see how long you can keep them while the competition tries to end your reign. Keep Prime Hunter status the longest to win. Capture -- Your goal in Capture Mode is to raid the enemy team's territory and steal their precious Octolith.

Score when both Octoliths are safe at your base. Nodes -- Explore the arena to find Node Rings, and earn points while they are under your control. The hunter who reaches the point goal first will win the match. Adventure Mode In the single-player Adventure Mode, Samus embarks on a quest to find powerful relics left behind by an ancient warrior culture.

But Samus isn't the only bounty hunter on this mission. Along the way, she'll have to fight off the galaxy's most elite hunters who hope to harness the power for themselves.

Hone your skills and unlock bounty hunters for use in Multiplayer Mode by completing the single-player adventure.

Explore multiple stages collecting Octoliths, and prevent other bounty hunters from stealing them along the way.

Engage in brutal boss battles at the conclusion of each stage.
Classic Metroid puzzle-solving is mixed with intense shooting action for an all-new Metroid experience. The Hunters Each of the seven bounty hunters in Metroid Prime Hunters has a unique alternate form and special weapon.

Which hunter will be your favorite? Samus -- Samus Aran is well-known throughout the galaxy as an efficient and experienced bounty hunter. Few other hunters can compete with Samus's long history of successful missions, most of which were carried out against seemingly insurmountable odds. Trace -- Trace is a Kriken, one of the most hated and feared races in the galaxy.

Every Kriken, when he reaches a certain age, is exiled by its clan for a rite of passage. Trace is currently in exile, traveling the galaxy looking for planets to expand the Kriken empire. Noxus -- Noxus is a member of the Vhozon, a proud and reclusive race that inhabit the outer rim of the galaxy.

A spiritual being who walks a harsh, righteous path, Noxus has become a Bounty Hunter to administer justice to the galaxy’s criminals and evildoers. Spire -- Spire is thought to be the sole remaining Diamont, an ancient race of silicon-based lifeforms whose bodies are composed of organic rock. Spire travels the galaxy as a bounty hunter searching for information on the location, or fate, of the rest of his people. Sylux -- Little is known about the mysterious bounty hunter known as Sylux, other than the fact that Sylux harbors an intense hatred for the Galactic Federation and the bounty hunter who has helped the Federation time and time again -- Samus Aran.

Weavel -- Once a powerful Space Pirate General, Weavel was critically wounded during an altercation between the Space Pirates and Samus Aran. With just his brain and spinal cord still functional, his body was fused with a mobile life support system.

Kanden -- A lab experiment gone awry, Kanden was created to be the ultimate soldier.

However, stress from the neural combat encoding sequences was more than Kanden’s still-mortal brain could handle, and left him ferocious, deadly and dangerously unpredictable. Bottom Line From its stunning graphics to its super-smooth gameplay, Metroid Prime Hunters showcases the awesome power of Nintendo DS. The Adventure mode is a fun diversion, but it's the multiplayer action that will keep you playing this game for years to come. With Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, you'll always have a pool of hunters waiting to challenge your skills.

This awesome game has everybody LOVIN' IT!

The Gameplay is soooooooooooooo AWEAOME That Even a 2 year old will love it!

Classic NDS Titles

Why this is a classic?

It was one of the hit Best Sellers in the year of 2005 and 2006.

It was enjoyed by many fans and it has a extreme rating of 5/5!!!

Back from their first turn in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the bros. are jumping into a time-traveling, role-playing adventure with a lot of help from their younger selves.

Professor E. Gadd has just completed his time machine! So excited was Princess Peach about the new invention, that she decided to go on a joy ride with a few of her courtiers. But when the time machine returns, no Princess, just an ugly Junior Shrooboid with a taste for Italian plumbers.

That's where Mario and Luigi come in. Bidden by Toadsworth, Peach's father, to find his daughter, the bros. travel to the Mushroom Kingdom of yesteryear by jumping through mysterious time holes which suddenly appear.

Features

Over 20 hours of game play across challenging lands

Use the top and bottom screens to solve puzzles and travel through each level

Awesome combo moves! Baby Mario and Baby Luigi maximize damage against enemies

Bros. Items like the green shell, fire flower, cannonball, red shell, and more bring on the hurt with explosive combat. Keep your fingers nimble!

Strike away with Baby Mario's hammer and drill underground with Baby Luigi to break through secret passages and hard-to-reach chambers

Befriend Stuffwell the suitcase and use him to pack your Bros. Items, equipment, and the precious Crystal Star shards

Talk to the Mushroom Kingdom's residents to learn clues

Level up and improve your stats after defeating enemies When Mario and Luigi find themselves in the past, they discover their home been invaded by the creepy Shroobs, an evil alien race jealous of the Mushroom Kingdom's riches.

It's up to the bros, child and adult, to save the Mushroom Kingdom, rescue Peach, and return the Crystal Star shards to Prof. E. Gadd. Bottom Line Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time brings exciting, non-stop role-playing action, with the platforming gameplay made famous by Super Mario Bros. Indeed, the game has a new challenge around every corner. A must-have for your Nintendo DS collection.

Game Of The Week : New Super Mario Bros

It's been more than 20 years since Super Mario Bros. first arrived, and now Mario and Luigi are back in an all-new platformer for Nintendo DS. Boasting incredible 3D graphics to accompany classic 2D gameplay, this fast-paced adventure will have Mario fans cheering.

Features

Run, jump, and stomp your way through raging volcanoes, tropical islands, snowcapped peaks, and unimaginable challenges!

Grab a Mega Mushroom and grow to incredible proportions, or smash through your foes in a blue Koopa shell!

Challenge a friend to a wireless face-off on specially designed levels, or play up to three friends in a ton of Touch Screen minigames.

New Worlds! New Super Mario Bros. features eight all-new worlds, each filled with extra levels, hidden paths, and secrets galore.

It's possible to complete the game without visiting every world, which means you'll have to track down many alternate exists to visit every nook and cranny in the game.

New Power-Ups! You'll find classic power-ups like the Super Mushroom and the Fire Flower in the game, and there are some all-new power-ups that let Mario explore the Mushroom Kingdom like never before.

Super Mushroom Mario's most basic power-up doubles his size and grants him the strength to smash through blocks. It also allows him to survive a single enemy hit.

Fire Mario The Fire Flower transforms Mario into Fire Mario, allowing him to throw fireballs that bounce along the ground and can damage or destroy most foes. Mega Mushroom Grab a Mega Mushroom to make Mario grow to colossal size for a short time.

Mega Mario can smash enemies, blocks and even pipes simply by running into them.

Mini Mushroom Snag a Mini Mushroom to shrink Mario down to micro size. In this teeny form, Mario can go into small pipes and travel down tiny paths. Plus, he's so light that he can perform floating jumps and run on water.

Koopa Shell When Mario picks up a special blue Koopa shell, he'll transform into Shell Mario. Shell Mario can smash through enemies and blocks like a Koopa shell, and also swim more quickly underwater.

New Moves! New Super Mario Bros. expands Mario's arsenal of moves to include some very powerful advanced techniques. If you want to uncover every secret in the game, you'll have to master them all.

Ground Pound Known in some circles as the "butt bounce," this move allows Mario to pound the ground from above. This technique can be used to attack enemies or to break bricks. Special Jumps Mario can gain new heights by performing double and triple jumps similar to those found in Super Mario 64.

Wall Jump Mario's new wall jumping ability is probably the most-used new move in the game. You'll have to use this technique to reach hidden items, and it can save your life if you accidentally fall into a pit.

New Multiplayer! There are two multiplayer modes in New Super Mario Bros. -- Mario vs. Luigi and Minigames. In Mario vs. Luigi mode, it's brother vs. brother in a race for Stars. The goal of the game is to collect the Stars that appear throughout the stage at timed intervals.

If your brother gets a Star first, don't worry. Any time you damage your bro, he'll drop one of his Stars and you can claim it for yourself. This mode is available for two players, and you only need one game card to play.

The Minigames mode offers a wide variety of simple touch-screen activities. You can challenge them solo, or use them as the basis of a minigame tournament for up to four players. The minigames may be simple, but they're surprisingly fun when you're putting your skills to the test against your friends.

Bottom Line The great thing about New Super Mario Bros. is that it takes everything that was so spectacular about the original series and takes it to the next level. The new moves and power-ups are awesome, and it's hugely satisfying to find hidden item blocks and other secrets scattered throughout the game. The replay value is through the roof, especially with the addition of the Mario vs. Luigi multiplayer mode. Never before has "New" been so dramatically understated.

Six classic and all-new modes

Incredible artwork inspired by Nintendo favorites like Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda

10 DS players can battle with only one Tetris DS card!

Battle worldwide on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Everyone agrees: Tetris is one of the most popular games ever. But Standard mode is only the starting point of this stunning game. Touch Mode -- Only Possible with the DS!

At the top of a heap of Tetriminos sits a cage of balloons inspired by the NES classic Balloon Fighter. Use the stylus to touch and slide the Tetriminos to clear lines and drop that cage ever closer to earth. If you can get the cage to hit the ground, it will open and the balloons will be set free. In early levels, players can tap blocks to rotate them just to fit into the open spaces.

Touch mode gets really challenging, though on the tougher levels, where you can't rotate the Tetriminos.

Think hard and carefully plan your moves. There's no time limit in this brain-bending mode. Once you play Touch mode, you'll wonder why no one has thought up this simple yet incredibly addictive puzzler before.

Push Mode -- Tetris Tug-of-War Push against friends locally via the DS wireless connection or all over the world via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Themed to the arcade classic Donkey Kong, players must clear lines in an attempt to push the other player to the edge of the screen.

Clearing two lines at a time moves the screen down and pushes the opponent into the red zone. The frantic action leads to abrupt changes of momentum. All it takes is a few well-timed pushes to quickly end a game. Push mode can also be played solo vs. the CPU. Catch Mode -- Tetris in Reverse Instead of controlling the flying Tetriminos, gamers control a flying core of blocks.

Maneuvering in a classic Metroid setting (you even get to destroy Metroids), gamers twist and move that core to catch the Tetriminos. As pieces fall, the core of blocks turns into a mass that can grow to unmanageable sizes if a player isn't careful. Falling Metroids will deplete your player's energy if they touch the mass of blocks. To keep the core of blocks under control, you'll need to form a solid square, then detonate it to refill the energy meter.

Catch mode is the ultimate Tetris game of survival. Puzzle Mode -- Testing Your Wits Clear all the blocks using only a few Tetriminos in this innovative mode themed around the Game Boy classic Yoshi's Cookie. You are given lines of blocks and a predetermined set of Tetriminos. Use the stylus to choose, rotate and drop a Tetrimino. Each drop has to clear at least one line. Often, the obvious choice isn't the right one. There's no time limit, so you have all the time in the world to ponder your next move. With 200 puzzles, gamers of all ages will be engrossed for hours. Mission Mode -- Move Quickly! In this Legend of Zelda-inspired mode, you are given scenarios to complete, such as clear two lines at once, or clear lines with a specific Tetrimino. Move quickly -- if you take too long, you'll be hit with junk blocks. You can play an endless Marathon game.

In Time Trial, clear 10 missions as quickly as possible in Time Trial. If your Zelda-inspired heart meter runs down, the game is over.

For frantic LAN fun, play Mission mode head-to-head against a friend. Standard Mode -- The Classic, Updated This is the place for classic Tetris action! Gamers can play traditional Tetris solo before a Super Mario Bros. backdrop or battle others nearby or around the world!

Up to four people can battle around the world with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and see how they stack up against others on the leaderboard on NintendoWiFi.com. Additionally, Tetris DS lets up to 10 people battle at the same time via wireless LAN. All you need is one Tetris DS Game Card and a DS for each player! For each ten levels cleared, you'll open up a new Nintendo-inspired theme. Excitebike, Ice Climber and Duck Hunt are just a few of the retro themes you'll love!

Bottom Line Brimming over with modes and features only possible with the DS's unique capabilities, Tetris DS is a must-have for all fans of great gaming!

Metroid is involve?
Im getting the game!

Super Paper Mario

How is it that the GameCube and Wii both launched without a Mario game? Somehow it happened, and here we are, months after Wii took the world by surprise and we're just now seeing the iconic mascot appear on the system. To make things even weirder, it's not a 3D platformer or sports game debut, either. Nope, it's a new entry in the RPG-lite Paper Mario series, the last of which landed in 2004. But in order to make the game more digestible to the non-RPG fan, Super Paper Mario plays more like a traditional side-scrolling Mario title than a straight-up RPG.
Sure, there's quite a bit of story, and you do gain levels as your score increases throughout the game, but instead of a big world ready to be explored, you're ushered from Chapter 1-1 to 1-2, 1-3 and then for a boss fight in 1-4. Repeat through 8-4, just like the good ol' NES days. The end of each world gives you a bit more of the story, introduces a new ability or two and maybe even throws in a new playable character - Peach, Bowser and eventually Luigi all become part of your heroic quartet.
Even the Wii Remote gets in on the old school action - it's held sideways, so everything handles like a true '80s Nintendo game. It's a great sensation to run through locales like Hell (aka the "Underwhere") with an uncomfortable rectangle mashed in your palms. Ah, the joys of pre-ergonomics ergonomics.

Sonic and the Secret Rings

Sonic brings his trademark speed and attitude to the Wii in his first solo adventure since 1991, and it's a real trailblazer. Features
Fast, frenetic gameplay with Sonic in constant motion
Exotic settings and creatures inspired by the Arabian Nights tales
Branching paths for extensive gameplay variety and replayability
A variety of party games for up to four players Sonic finds himself in the colorful and vibrant world of the Arabian Nights. There he embarks on his most outrageous journey to date through an expansive 3D world brought to life with realistic water reflections, light bloom and lifelike physics. The most engaging thing about Sonic and the Secret Rings is that it's fun. Sonic Team created a game that is not only fun for all ages, they've added depth to both appease the beginner and challenge the hardcore gamers. On the simple sideFor those looking for the simple slice of Sonic life, they need to know only three game functions: jump, attack and lateral movement. Players hold the Wii Remote on its side like it's the center column of a steering wheel. Tilting the remote left or right makes Sonic move to the left or right. Because Sonic is always moving forward, you need to only focus on moving left or right to avoid obstacles or collect rings. Sonic jumps when you press the 2 Button, and he attacks enemies if you flick the remote forward once he's in the air. That's really all you need to know to enjoy this game. Sonic's surroundings, inspired by ancient Persia and the Arabian Nights, add a beautiful artistic element that will often times pull your attention away from the action and into the background. The lush environments might distract you, but they don't detract from the sense of speed. Sonic runs with silky-smooth grace that is only slowed by either the user's desire or error. For the hardcoreSonic and the Secret Rings sounds simple, doesn't it? It's not-- by a longshot. Sonic challenges gamers to a new platforming experience that's difficult to master. Although it doesn't take that much effort to complete a mission, it takes a ton of skill to secure the three Fire Souls found within the missions and to notch a gold-medal performance. In RPG fashion, Sonic gets stronger, faster and more agile as you progress through the game. As he learns new skills through gameplay, you can equip those skills on a special ring. While wearing this ring, Sonic uses a number of those acquired skills during a level in an effort to earn the gold medal. For those ready to fall back in love with Sonic, or for those who need a lot of depth in a game before they buy it, it's hard to argue against the replayability of Sonic and the Secret Rings. Missing a key jump is frustrating; making it is utterly satisfying. Missing a Fire Soul or falling short of the gold makes you want to try harder to nail it. And now, we partyWhat would Sonic be without his friends? Although you can't play as any of Sonic's compadres in the main adventure, they're waiting on the deck of the party boat. In X Adventure World, you and three friends (or computer opponents) will do battle in a number of minigames. You'll find several competitive minigame events. Genie's Lair, for example, lets the winners of the minigames pick from treasure chests, some of which are booby trapped. The one with the most treasure wins. Pirates Coast puts you and your friends on rival rafts. Minigame winners advance farther toward the goal. The minigames themselves are OK, and your enjoyment of this mode will depend on your affinity for party games. If you're not a party-game fan, this collection won't do anything to bring you over to the dark side. If you're a fan, this multiplayer mode is a nice bonus, otherwise you'll feel like this is tacked on just so Tails and Knuckles would have something to do. The Secret's OutWii has its first great platformer. Once you get past the tutorials and into the meat of the game, it's easy to see Sonic's at home with his return to his roots. Then, once you unlock such screen-blurring abilities as Sonic's Speed Break, you'll see this is more than a return to form for the Hedgehog—it's an exhilarating attack on your senses. Bottom LineDon't expect the story or dialogue to enthrall you; besides, Sonic's all about speed. This game has tons of it and would make an excellent addition to your Wii library.

This game is awesome!

The controls are to swing, flip, move in shape like a Z formations and loops and circles with the Wiimote and Nunchuck

Wiimote and Nunchuck are the vital organs of this game.

Its abit difficult at first to master the controls, but when you do, its damn bloody fun!

Soul of the SSX on Wii: SSX Blur brings to the Wii the essence of the franchise – re-mixed, re-energized and fully realized
On the Ground and In the Air: EA pushes the envelope and takes full advantage of the hardware’s potential to give you a "Wii-ified" SSX experience. Use the Nunchuk to carve down the slopes on the ground and huck into the air, then use the Wii Remote in the air to pull off spins, flips and tricks.
Paint your Uber Tricks: To unleash your uber tricks, think of yourself as an artist painting different shape outlines in the air for each aerial maneuver.
Feel the Groove: With dynamic music mirroring your experience, you will feel the tunes intensify as you stick your tricks and your groove meter starts to fill. Keep grooving to boost your speed and amp up your air.
The Mountain is your Playground: With three distinct peaks and 12 tracks all freshly styled, you can bomb down the mountain nonstop, top-to-bottom.
Mac is Back: Mac, Kaori, Psymon, Allegra and many more of the SSX favorites are all back and ready to rip. There will also be two brand-new faces for you to hit the runs with.
Motion Based Front End: Every second of your SSX Blur experience will be maxed out with motion. The UI is entirely motion-based with virtually no use of buttons. Aim the remote at the screens to navigate your way from one place to the next. The action takes place on three mountains. On each mountain, you'll board a bit before reaching a fork to new tracks. There are 12 tracks in all. Along the way you'll find plenty of jumps, half-pipes, sheer drops, obstacles and straightforward opportunities to carve like Michelangelo. You start with four riders and can unlock eight more. You can also unlock new boards, costumes and skis. Gameplay for the freestyle skiing is much like boarding, although EA Montreal slightly tweaked the controls. Music has always been a key part of the SSX experience. This time around, instead of licensing big names like Macy Gray, EA tasked music mastermind JunkieXL to compose his uniqu brand of electronica for the game. Uniquely, the music functions as a sort of aural momentum meter. JunkieXL came up with five progressively more complex versions of the same basic audiotrack. As you do better, the music speeds up and challenges you to do better. Crash like a bear driving a Maserati, though, and you'll go back to the basic track. Multiplayer modes include head-to-head and hot seat, in which players take turns competing for the best time or highest number of points. Bottom Line In keeping with the Wii's inclusiveness vibe, SSX Blur offers more accessible, family-friendly fun than earlier versions. Using the two controllers feels natural, as is pulling sweet tricks by twising the Remote like a madman. All in all, a fun, enjoyable romp down a mountainside that doesn't require a costly lift ticket.

Pokmon Diamond and Pearl Sells 1 million copies in 5 days

One of the video game industry’s most celebrated franchises is officially hotter than ever. Within just five days of availability, more than 1 million copies of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl for the portable Nintendo DS have sold in the United States since Sunday’s launch; a faster rate than any previous Pokémon games since the franchise’s U.S. introduction, almost a decade ago. To date, more than 155 million copies of Pokémon games have sold worldwide. Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl are poised to become two of the top-selling games of 2007 in the United States. More than one half million people pre-ordered the games before launch. Additionally, thousands of people attended the kickoff launch event in New York, and demand for the games continues to be off the charts. These latest versions of Pokémon games were introduced in Japan on Sept. 28, 2006, and have already been purchased by more than 5 million video gamers there. The two games include a number of features that make them particularly attractive to gamers, including:
More than 100 new Pokémon.
A 3-D look that makes Pokémon jump off the screen.
Worldwide wireless battling and trading using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
Voice chat functions that let players talk wirelessly with their friends. Later this year, these two titles will also help expand the Pokémon universe for the first time to Wii, Nintendo’s new home video game system. Diamond and Pearl owners will be able to use their DS hardware units as controllers for Pokémon Battle Revolution (launching June 25), the first Pokémon game available for Wii. Players also will be able to export characters to the Wii game.

The Wii

History
The console was conceived in 2001, as the Nintendo GameCube was first seeing release. According to an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, the concept involved focusing on a new form of player interaction. "The consensus was that power isn't everything for a console. Too many powerful consoles can't coexist. It's like having only ferocious dinosaurs. They might fight and hasten their own extinction."
Two years later, engineers and designers were brought together to further develop the concept. By 2005, the controller interface had taken form, but a public showing at that year's E3 was withdrawn. Miyamoto stated that "we had some troubleshooting to do. So we decided not to reveal the controller and instead we displayed just the console." Satoru Iwata later unveiled and demonstrated the Wii Remote at the September Tokyo Game Show.
The Nintendo DS is stated to have influenced the Wii design. Designer Ken'ichiro Ashida noted "We had the DS on our minds as we worked on the Wii. We thought about copying the DS's touch-panel interface and even came up with a prototype." The idea was eventually rejected, with the notion that the two gaming systems would be identical. Miyamoto also expressed that "if the DS had flopped, we might have taken the Wii back to the drawing board."

Name
The console was known by the code name of "Revolution" until April 27, 2006, immediately prior to E3. According to the Nintendo Style Guide, the name "is simply Wii, not Nintendo Wii." This means it is the first home console Nintendo has marketed outside of Japan without the company name featured in its trademark. While "Wiis" is a commonly used pluralization of the console, Nintendo has stated that the official plural form is "Wii systems" or "Wii consoles."Nintendo spells "Wii" with two lower-case "i" characters meant to resemble two people standing side by side, representing players gathering together, as well as to represent the console's controllers. The company has given many reasons for this choice of name since the announcement; however, the most well known is:

Wii sounds like 'we', which emphasizes that the console is for everyone. Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii.

Despite Nintendo's justification for the name, some game developers and members of the press initially reacted negatively towards the change. They preferred "Revolution" over "Wii" and expressed fear "that the name would convey a continued sense of 'kidiness' to the console."The BBC reported the day after the name was announced that "a long list of puerile jokes, based on the name," had appeared on the Internet. Reggie Fils-Aime acknowledged the initial reaction and further explained the change:

Revolution as a name is not ideal; it's long, and in some cultures, it's hard to pronounce. So we wanted something that was short, to the point, easy to pronounce, and distinctive. That's how 'Wii,' as a console name, was created.

Nintendo defended its choice of "Wii" over "Revolution" and responded to critics of the name by stating: "live with it, sleep with it, eat with it, move along with it."

Launch
Main article: Wii launch
On September 14, 2006, Nintendo announced release information for Japan, North and South America, Australasia (Oceania), Asia, and Europe, including dates, prices, and projected unit distribution numbers. At an earlier policy briefing, Nintendo revealed plans to release 6 million console units and 17 million software units during the fiscal year ending March 31, 2007.This included the 4 million or more console units they expected to ship by the end of the 2006 calendar year. It was announced that the majority of the 2006 shipments would be allotted to the Americas]and that 33 titles would be available in the 2006 launch window. As reported, the United Kingdom suffered a large shortage of console units as many high-street and online stores were unable to fulfill all preorders when it was released on December 8, 2006. As of March 2007, some UK stores still had a shortage of consoles.
Nintendo announced that they would release their console in South Korea by the end of 2007.

Super Paper Mario

Nintendo's First Mario Game for Wii Leaves a Paper Trail of Excitement Apr 09, 2007
Super Paper Mario flips between 2-D and 3-D perspectives

Today’s launch of Super Paper Mario for Nintendo’s red-hot Wii system transports players into another dimension. Like a story ripped from the pages of a paperback novel, Mario has the ability to switch between a 2-D and 3-D perspective. With the motion-sensitive and pointing abilities of the Wii Remote, this first Mario game for Wii delivers the goods. At the start of the story, a mysterious villain kidnaps Princess Peach and Bowser, and forces the unlikely couple to get married without any paperwork. Mario, always the hero, sets out to save the day before a rift of dark energy tears the universe apart. “This is one of the most remarkable Mario adventures you’ve ever seen,” says George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. “Millions of Wii owners will be happy, because this game appeals to everyone by providing a fresh perspective on gaming.” Players solve puzzles, perform new actions, learn fresh abilities and beat bosses using the innovative and action-sensitive remote. Players can even navigate through parts of the game as Peach, and of course, Bowser, whose devastating fiery breath burns like lemon juice on a paper cut. Super Paper Mario, Rated E for Everyone, launches today. For more information about the game, visit

WWE ON Wii!!!!!!!!!

WWE on Wii! Mar 30, 2007
WWE steps back into the Nintendo ring with WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 on Wii and DS.

WrestleMania 23—held this Sunday, April 1 at Ford Field in Detroit—is considered by many WWE fans to be the biggest wrestling event of the year. WWE Champion John Cena will defend his title against Shawn Michaels, World Heavyweight Champion Batista will battle the Undertaker, and ECW Champion Bobby Lashley will square off against Umaga to decide which unlikable billionaire (Donald Trump or WWE owner Vince McMahon) will get his head shaved. But the true wrestling event of the year will be this fall, when THQ brings WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 to Wii and Nintendo DS. While the SmackDown vs. Raw series has appeared on other systems in years past, the 2008 version is the first that will appear on Nintendo systems, and will offer several features to set itself aside from its predecessors. The idea behind the Wii version is to give players ultimate control over their favorite grapplers. Though the controls are still under development, when designers from Yuke's (the game's creators) demonstrated the game on Wii, they could actually make a punching motion with the Wii remote to punch, a lifting motion to lift an opponent up by the throat, and then a downward movement to chokeslam him to the mat. A demonstrator even mimicked DX's infamous crotch-chop with the nunchuk and remote to make his character, Triple H, perform the taunt in-game. "We are tailoring the controls exclusively to the Nintendo Wii," says creative manager Cory Ledesma. "We want you to feel like when we're talking about ultimate control, you're feeling ultimate control. We really want to tailor to the casual gamers for this product. We want players to pick it right up and play. We want to have it almost as easy as some of these Wii Sports titles." In addition to intuitive motion-based controls, THQ hopes to make the game accessible to the broadest number of users possible with faster, more arcade-like gameplay, and less emphasis on simulation-style elements (for example, there will be no stamina meter). But that's not to say the game won't have a deep feature set. Building upon previous versions of SmackDown vs. Raw, the Wii version will include eight different fighting styles: Technical, Submission Artist, Showman, Powerhouse, High Flyer, Hardcore, Dirty, and Brawler. The fighting styles won't only allow the wrestlers to behave more like their real-life counterparts, but will give them unique special moves available only to their style. Powerhouses, for example, can mightily kick out of any pin if they have a finishing move stored in reserve, and Dirty wrestlers can push the referee at opponents. The designers are also implementing a new WWE 24/7 mode (sort of a combination between a career mode and a general manager mode) in which you try to become a WWE legend, and an active submission system, which allows players to control the amount of strength used both offensively and defensively during submission holds. Additionally, the game will feature more than 50 superstars including the "extremists" of ECW. Although THQ wouldn't give out the full roster, they mentioned or demonstrated numerous top stars in action, including Randy Orton, John Cena, Triple H, Kane, the Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, and Bobby Lashley. Plus mid-carder Chris Masters, for those who care. The DS version—THQ's first wrestling game on a Nintendo handheld in three years, and the first to feature 3-D visuals—promises its own distinct take on pro wrestling with touch-screen-based moves. Developed by Amaze, the game will feature 20 grapplers from Raw, SmackDown, and ECW (including Triple H, Kane, and Chris Benoit), plus more than 80 holds, and a complete season mode with multiple storylines. WrestleMania may only be one day a year, but come this fall, players should be enjoying the action and theatrics of WWE on Wii and DS for a long, long time. Stay tuned to Nintendo.com and Nintendo Power magazine for the latest information and images of the game as they become available.
